The summer school is not only about learning but also a unique opportunity for cooperation between students, researchers, and local authorities to turn innovative urban ideas into reality.

Participation in the school is free for students from the project’s partner universities! The organizers cover the costs of accommodation, meals, and transportation.

As a reminder, the second summer school is part of the UniCities project supported by the Erasmus+ program, which promotes the development of Ukrainian universities as a driving force for creating sustainable and climate-neutral cities.

It is worth reminding that partner institutions are implementing the project: Royal Institute of Technology KTH (Sweden), Universidad Politechnica de Madrid, UPM (Spain), National Technical University of Ukraine Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, NTUU KPI  (Ukraine), Chernihiv National University of Technology, CNUT (Ukraine), Academician Yuriy Bugay International Scientific and Technical University, ISTU (Ukraine), Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, NLUU (Ukraine), Charitable Fund CANactions, All-Ukrainian Association of Local Government Authorities “Association of Ukrainian Cities”, Public union «Association of the engineers of stable energy technologies of Ukraine», Ukrainian Research Hydrometeorological Institute, UHMI.

Last year, the summer school brought together more than 40 students, a dozen experts, and practitioners from Ukraine and Europe. The comprehensive format of lectures and practical classes allowed project participants to develop innovative solutions. The training took place online and in person in Kyiv at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute,” and in Chernihiv at the premises of the National University “Chernihiv Polytechnic”. During the summer school, the participants managed to identify the problems faced by Chernihiv residents and the academic community. This helped them to formulate ideas and actively work on them, creating unique concepts and justifying why their solutions should be implemented.

We invite you to join the community of change-makers and future experts in the sustainable development of Ukrainian cities and communities. Let’s create the future of our cities with UniCities!
