Common values – common foundation: Memorandum between ISTU and Municipal Research Institute Institution City Development Institute prepares new opportunities for UniCities
On July 4, 2024, Veronika Khudolei, Rector of the Academician Yuri Buhay International Scientific and Technical University, and Serhiy Pavlovsky, Director of Municipal Research Institute Institution City Development Institute, signed a memorandum of cooperation.
This document not only formalizes and deepens the cooperation between ISTU and the Municipal Research Institute Institution City Development Institute but also plays a key role in the implementation of our UniCities project. After all, the common goals of the memorandum and UniCities are closely intertwined, focusing on the innovative development of cities, communities, and the country as a whole. Urbanism, the concept of “smart cities”, green transformation, and climate neutrality are the priority areas in which the project consortium member and the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Railway and Motor Vehicles will join forces.
Moreover, the Kyiv Municipal Research Institute Institution City Development Institute also joined the recent opening of centers of participating universities within the UniCities project, of which ISTU is a partner and national coordinator. These are units that combine innovative interdisciplinarity and will contribute to the green transition and sustainable development of Ukrainian cities and communities. The Center was formed on the principles that are valuable to our partner, in particular, the Kyiv Municipal Research Institute Institution City Development, with which the Center’s team will also cooperate productively very soon.
This memorandum opens up opportunities for joint city, national, and international projects, initiatives, educational activities, and research, allows students to actively participate in the preparation and implementation of urban policies, and promotes the development of educational programs that train professionals to effectively manage sustainable, green cities and communities.
The signing of the Memorandum with the Kyiv Municipal Research Institute Institution City Development Institute is not just a formality, but a clear step towards fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation. In addition, this partnership will be a powerful catalyst for achieving common goals in the implementation of the UniCities project, as combined efforts and shared experience make it possible to create truly meaningful changes.
