On 21 May, II International Scientific and Practical Conference “Sustainability of education and science in the context of transformation” was held at the Academician Yuriy Bugay International Scientific and Technical University. This event brought together prominent scientists and experts from all over the world, including representatives from Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Spain, Italy, Latvia, and Estonia, attracting a total of 25 speakers from 8 countries.

The conference became a place to exchange views and insight from experts in various fields. It was divided into relevant panels of different directions, including the panel “Green Transformation of Ukraine as Part of its European Integration (within the framework of the UNICITIES project)”.

The panel “Green Transformation of Ukraine as Part of its European Integration (within the framework of the UNICITIES project)” helped participants to join a unique and interesting discussion, where Olga Kordas, Jaime Moreno Serna, and Oksana Udovyk presented the results of their research. The panel emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s green transformation in the context of European integration and its role in ensuring sustainable development. According to the speakers, transformational changes are impossible without experimental approaches, a clear vision of problems, adaptation, and continuous improvement of education and science. They should affect all levels: economic, cultural, legal, etc. It is important to remember that rebuilding Ukrainian cities and forming a conscious society is not possible without understanding who we are doing it for. Jaime Moreno Serna noted that it is important to have people around you who share common values and are interested in real change. In addition, the speakers’ presentations covered various aspects of environmental change, the impact of war on the environment, ways to integrate environmental practices into urban planning, and the role of universities in these processes.

The conference “Sustainability of education and science in the context of transformation” has become an important platform for discussing current issues and trends in various fields, from technology and artificial intelligence to ecology and the role of education in modern changes. Participants had the opportunity to exchange international experience, which helped to improve the quality of educational and scientific processes and stimulate the movement towards sustainable development.

The event demonstrated the importance of international academic meetings, which allow not only to discuss current challenges but also to establish international cooperation. The conference significantly contributed to the development of modern education and science and facilitated the exchange of experience, networking, and preparation for future challenges in sustainable development. The event was attended by more than 70 participants from all over the world, and the panel “Green Transformation of Ukraine as Part of its European Integration (within the framework of the UniCities project)”  helped to motivate people to learn more about the green reconstruction of Ukrainian cities, sustainable development and our role in this important mission.

The II International Scientific and Practical Conference was a significant step towards the sustainable and innovative development of educational and scientific systems in Ukraine and the world, emphasising the importance of green transformation and digitalisation in the current environment.
